Two years ago I developed this recipe for Dole’s Healthy Banana Split challenge. I just re-shot it for this year, as it’s still a terrific recipe and perfect for the end of summer. You can indulge, while still being pretty healthy. This healthy version of the split comes in at around 330 calories vs. more than 1,000 in a typical banana split.
Enjoy roasted banana-rum ice cream, cherry-rum sauce, chocolate sauce, and chocolate-dipped banana slices loaded with salty peanuts. Click here for the healthy banana split recipe. I’m excited to say I was one of four runners-up in their contest!

This used to be my mom’s very favorite dessert in the whole world, so this one has a special place in my heart. I love all the things you did to lighten this dessert up, especially roasting the bananas. GREAT idea.
Thanks Susan, I appreciate that coming from you.
I love a banana split. Especially a healthy one. Yum!
I LOVE the banana slices with the chocolate and peanuts! Best part :)
