This month I am giving away over $950 worth of my favorite migraine-friendly products to promote the launch of my book The Migraine Relief Plan. Click here to learn how to enter the giveaway, which requires purchase of the book.
I’ll be highlighting some of the products each day as a way to thank each company for supporting my work.
Meet: Bob’s Red Mill
Why it’s migraine-friendly:
- Eating gluten-free is at the heart of The Migraine Relief Plan
- Many doctors now believe eating gluten itself is inflammatory. Since migraine is an inflammatory condition I recommend going gluten-free in The Migraine Relief Plan.
- Eating whole foods is key to long-term health and wellness
What they say about their product:
“For over three decades, Bob Moore has been committed to providing people everywhere with the best quality foods available. His passion for health and belief in taking care of one another is as strong today as it was when he first started the business with his wife Charlee. Bob plays a fundamental role in the daily operations of the business. His enthusiasm and ‘honest-to-goodness’ approach are shared with every one of his employees. This passion for providing the best nutritional whole grains has made us the leading name in health foods across the country.
To assure the integrity of our gluten-free products, we adhere to a standard of no more than 19 parts per million of gluten. We’ve even built a separate gluten-free facility with specialized machinery to make sure that our products maintain their purity—just as nature intended. By going to these lengths, we’re able to ensure that folks with wheat allergies, celiac disease, and gluten intolerance can trust our products. ”
Why I recommend it:
Just imagine showing up for work one day as a company employee and leaving as an owner. That dream came true for the employees at Bob’s Red Mill on Bob’s 81st birthday. Rather than receiving gifts, he decided to give his greatest gift away—his business. Bob surprised all his employees by giving them total ownership of Bob’s Red Mill through an Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP).
I have toured the gluten-free factory and they are unbelievably careful about their gluten-free products.
What you need to know:
Make sure you purchase items labeled gluten-free from Bob’s Red Mill. They have another facility that produces wheat and other products and those would not be gluten-free. Check their gluten-free flour mixes before buying: any that include fava bean or garfava flour are not migraine-friendly (until you test fava beans for yourself as a trigger).
Where to buy:
In many grocery outlets; best selection is online at Bob’s Red Mill.
Required FTC disclosure:Bob’s Red Mill is providing one set of gluten-free flours for the giveaway. I was not paid to write this post.
